Konstantinos IX Laskaris

Konstantinos IX was born about 1173 in Nicaea, Bursa, Turkey.  Konstantinos IX's father was Manolis Laskaris and his mother was Ioanna Karatzaina (Phokaina). He had six brothers named Manolis, Georgios, Theodore I Lascaris of, Alexios, Isaak and Michael.  He was the third oldest of the seven children.
