Manolis Laskaris 
Manolis was born about 1169 in Nicaea, Bursa, Turkey. Manolis' father was Manolis Laskaris and his mother was Ioanna Karatzaina (Phokaina). He had six brothers named Georgios, Konstantinos IX, Theodore I Lascaris of, Alexios, Isaak and Michael. He was the oldest of the seven children.
