Alexios Laskaris 
Alexios was born about 1178 in Nicaea, Bursa, Turkey. Alexios' father was Manolis Laskaris and his mother was Ioanna Karatzaina (Phokaina). He had six brothers named Manolis, Georgios, Konstantinos IX, Theodore I Lascaris of, Isaak and Michael. He was the third youngest of the seven children.
