Henry was born in 1281 in Grismond Castle, Monmouthshire, England.  Henry's father was Prince Edmund ("Crouchback") and his mother was Blanche of Artois.  His paternal grandparents were King Henry Plantagenet III of England and Queen Eleanor Berenger of Provence; his maternal grandparents were Robert Capet I of Artois and Princess Matilde de Brabant. He had a half-sister named Joan.  He died at the age of 64 on September 22nd, 1345 in Monastry of Cannons, England.  He was buried in Monastry of Cannons, England.


Henry's family with Maud de Chaworth

‌Henry and Maud were married in a religious ceremony on March 12th, 1296 in Kidwelly, Carmarthenshire, Wales.  They had a son and four daughters, named Henry, "of Lancaster", Joan, Mary and Eleanor.
