Charles was born in Naples, Italy.  Charles' father was King Charles Capet I of Sicily & Naples and his mother was Countess Beatrice Berenger of Provence.  His paternal grandparents were King Louis Eliganius ("the Lion") Capet VIII and Princess Blanche of Castile; his maternal grandparents were Raymond Berenger V (IV) and Beatrice de Savoie.  He was an only child.  He died on May 5th, 1309.


Charles' first family with Princess Marie of Hungary

‌Charles and Marie were married in a religious ceremony in 1270.  They had two daughters named Margaret and Eleanor.


Charles' second family

He had a biological son named Sampson.
