Capt. Thomas was born on March 12th, 1669 in Hartford, Hartford Co., CT. Capt. Thomas' father was John I Seymour and his mother was Mary Watson. His paternal grandparents were Richard Seymour and Mercy Ruscoe; his maternal grandparents were John Watson and Margaret Smith. He had seven brothers and two sisters, named John, Zachary, Richard, Jonathan, Nathaniel, Zachary, Zachariah, Mary and Margaret. He was the second oldest of the ten children. He died at the age of 71 on August 30th, 1740 in Hartford, Hartford Co., CT.-
