Katherine was born on July 13th, 1567 in St Leonard's, Eastcheap, London, England. Katherine's father was John Brooke and her mother was Elizabeth Whitman. Her paternal grandparents were Robert Brooke and Katheryn (Westby or Weld); her maternal grandparents are Edward Whitman and Bridget Kellond. She had seven brothers and eight sisters, named William, John, John, Robert, Nathaniel, Thomas, Benjamin, Susan, Joanne, Margaret, Elizabeth, Mary, Sarah, Rebecca and Martha. She is the sixth youngest of the sixteen children.-
