Mary was born about 1737 in Caroline Co., VA, USA. Mary's father was Thomas Rucker and her mother was Tinsley. Her paternal grandparents were Peter Rucker and Elizabeth Fielding. She had eight brothers and four sisters, named Thomas, Cornelius, Peter, John, William, Maudlin, George, Isaac, Estha, Elizabeth, Martha and Frankey. She was the fifth oldest of the thirteen children.-
