Thomas was born on October 28th, 1843 in Green Co.,Kentucky. Thomas' father was William C. Underwood and his mother is Mariah J. Druien. His paternal grandparents were Hiram Underwood and Celia Buley. He had four brothers and six sisters, named Hiram, Jesse, William J., George W., Sarah, Nancy, Celia, Mariah J., Ursula and Martha F.. He was the sixth oldest of the eleven children. He died at the age of 70 on December 23rd, 1913 in Taylor Co.,Kentucky. He was buried in Underwood- Sprowles Family Cemetery,Taylor Co.,Kentucky.General Notes
