Hiram was born on April 25th, 1837 in Green  Co.,Kentucky.  Hiram's father was William C. Underwood and his mother is Mariah J. Druien.  His paternal grandparents were Hiram Underwood and Celia Buley. He had four brothers and six sisters, named Thomas, Jesse, William J., George W., Sarah, Nancy, Celia, Mariah J., Ursula and Martha F..  He was the third oldest of the eleven children.  He died at the age of 91 on February 27th, 1929 in Taylor Co.,Kentucky.

‌Hiram and Eliza Jane were married in a religious ceremony on December 17th, 1857 in Taylor Co.,Kentucky.  They had three sons and three daughters, named William Jackson, General Thomas, John Hamilton, Mariah Elliot, Nancy Ellen and Margaret Jane.


Hiram's second family with Emily Jane Hedgespeth

‌Hiram and Emily Jane were married in a religious ceremony on May 29th, 1877 in Taylor Co.,Kentucky.  They had two sons and four daughters, named Wilson E., Elijah M., Lizzie B., Cely M., Sallie M. and Henry E..
