Sylvia was born on February 18th, 1769. Sylvia's father was Henry Skaggs and her mother is Mary Thompson. Her paternal grandparents were James Skaggs and Rachel Unknown. She had five brothers and five sisters, named John Thompson, James, Solomon, David, Stephen, Sarah, Nancy, Lucy, Mary and Rachael. She is the fourth youngest of the eleven children.-
