James Skaggs 
James was born in 1787 in Russell Co.,Virginia. James' father was Jeremiah Skaggs and his mother was Hannah Lester. His paternal grandfather was Zachariah Skaggs and his paternal grandmother is Nancy Wilcox. He had a brother and four sisters, named John, Nancy, Martha, Lydia and Hannah. He is the oldest of the six children.-
