Port Ellis was born on April 1st, 1876 in Sugar Loaf,Coryell Co. Texas. Port Ellis' father was Whipple Wesson , Dr. McCorcle and his mother was Cornelia Mildred Craig. His paternal grandparents were Archibald T. McCorcle and Carolina Eliza Matilda Cook Allen. He had three brothers and two sisters, named Denny Jenks, Michael, Gideon, Lavinia and Hester Jennette. He had two half-brothers and a half-sister, named Jerico, Gideon and Mary Elizabeth. He died at the age of 83 in 1959 in Dallas,Dallas Co.,Texas. He was buried in Killeen Cemetery,Killeen,Bell Co.,Texas.-
