Margaret Ann's father was George Burder Keahey and her mother was Margaret Keahey. Her paternal grandparents were James Keahey and Mary Jane Jackson; her maternal grandfather was George Keahey and her maternal grandmother is Sarah McFarland. She had six brothers and two sisters, named James Alfred, John Flavil, George Jackson, Samuel Newell, Martin Elijah, William Samples, Mary and Sarah Jane.-
