Luther was born on May 6th, 1859 in Cumberland Co.,Kentucky. Luther's father was Richard Clark Bouldin and his mother was Emma Amelia Dickens. His paternal grandparents are John Bouldin and Betsy Lampkin. He had four brothers and four sisters, named Richard Clark, Henry S., Robert E. Lee, Wylie Cox, Jane Eliza, Bernice, Clara Eugenia and Martha Harris. He had five half-brothers and six half-sisters, named Pleasant C., James A., John G., Thomas T., Willliam M., Polly Ann, Bettie L., Susan C., Sarah Ellen, Ella and Nancy.-
