James A. Allen 
James A. was born in 1827 in Claiborne,Louisana. James A.'s father was John Calhoun Allen and his mother was Mary Holcombe. His paternal grandfather was Hiram Allen and his paternal grandmother is Mary Ann Susanna Unknown. He had five brothers and three sisters, named Hiram George, John Burchfield, Harmon Holcombe, Thomas Price, George Washington, Mary Ann Elizabeth, Cassandra Ann and Martha. He is the third oldest of the nine children.-
