Herman Lloyd was born on August 30th, 1903 in Wallis,Austin Co.,Texas. Herman Lloyd's father was Samuel Norton Allen and his mother was Edna Sidney Tomlinson. His paternal grandparents were James William Allen and Penelope Johnston. He had three brothers and three sisters, named James William, Robert Newton, Jessie Sam, Penelope, Ida Delia and Bessie Enda. He is the second youngest of the seven children.-
