Maud was born about 1235.  Maud's father was Walter III de Clifford and her mother was Marared Drwyndon verch Llywelyn Fawr.  Her paternal grandfather was Walter II de Clifford and her paternal grandmother is Agnes de Condet; her maternal grandparents were Llywelyn Fawr the Great ap Iowerth of Wales and Tanglwy Goch verch Llywarch of Rhos. She had three half-brothers named William VI, John and Richard.  She died about 1282.

‌Maud and William II were married in a religious ceremony on April 30th, 1244.  They had a daughter named Margaret.

‌Maud and John were married in a religious ceremony about 1257.  They had three daughters named Maud, Catherine and Alianore.
