John Skidmore 
John was born about 1768 in Virginia. John's father was Joseph Skidmore and his mother was Elizabeth Phares. His paternal grandparents were Joseph Skidmore and Agnes Anne Caldwell; his maternal grandparents were John Phares and Agnes Margaret Johnson. He had four brothers and five sisters, named Richard, Samuel, Joseph, James, Catherine, Ann, Elizabeth, Sarah and Barbara. He is the fourth oldest of the ten children.-
