James Skidmore 
James was born about 1783 in Pendleton County, West Virginia. James' father was Joseph Skidmore and his mother was Elizabeth Phares. His paternal grandparents were Joseph Skidmore and Agnes Anne Caldwell; his maternal grandparents were John Phares and Agnes Margaret Johnson. He had four brothers and five sisters, named Richard, Samuel, John, Joseph, Catherine, Ann, Elizabeth, Sarah and Barbara. He was the youngest of the ten children. He died in Pendleton County, West Virginia.-
