Philip Earhart was born on May 6th, 1829 in Somerset County, Pennsylvania. Philip Earhart's father was George Shaver and his mother was Rosina Ankeny. His paternal grandparents were Peter Shaver and Elisabeth Earhart; his maternal grandparents were Peter Ankney and Rosina Bonnet. He had six brothers and six sisters, named Peter A., Daniel K., Daniel K., Joseph N., George W., Tevius Henry, Camelia, Eliza, Elizabeth, Mary S., Eleanor P. and Henrietta. He was the fourth youngest of the thirteen children. He died at the age of 75 on October 10th, 1904 in Johnson County, Iowa. He was buried in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Amish/Joetown, Johnson County, Iowa.-
