Lincoln Grimes was born on March 28th, 1865 in Johnson County, Iowa. Lincoln Grimes' father was Philip Earhart Shaver and his mother was Hettie Grimes. His paternal grandparents were George Shaver and Rosina Ankeny; his maternal grandfather was Robert Grimes. He had a sister named Jennie. He was the younger of the two children. He died at the age of 71 in December 1936 in Iowa City, Iowa. He was buried in Oakland Cemetery, Iowa City, Iowa.-
