James Madison Gilkerson 
James Madison was born on June 3rd, 1875 in Crickmer, Fayette County, West Virginia. James Madison's father was Robert Shanklin Gilkerson and his mother was Elizabeth Ellen Kincaid. His paternal grandparents were Thomas Madison Gilkerson and Mary Crawford Shaver; his maternal grandparents were James Mathias Kincaid and Sara Susan Elizabeth Martin. He had six brothers and five sisters, named Samuel H., John William, Isaac Ervin, Jacob Edward, Oscar Haynes, Robert Shanklin Jr., Mary Ellen, Susan E., Laura May, Emma Harrah and Ellen. He died at the age of 83 on July 12th, 1958 in Fayetteville, Fayette County, West Virginia. He was buried in Johnson Cemetery, Table Rock, Raleigh County, West Virginia.-
