Alexandra Schleswig Oldenburg of was born on December 1st, 1844 in Yellow Palace, Copenhagen, Denmark.  Alexandra Schleswig Oldenburg of's father was Christian IX Schleswig-Holstein of Denmark and her mother was Louise Wilhelmina of Hesse-Cassel.  Her paternal grandfather was Frederick William of Schleswig-Holstein and her paternal grandmother is Louise Caroline von Hessen-Cassel. She had two brothers and a sister, named Frederick VIII Oldenburg of, George I of and Dagmar Marie.  She was the second oldest of the four children.  She died at the age of 80 on November 20th, 1925 in Sandringham, Norfolk, England.

‌Alexandra Schleswig Oldenburg of and Edward VII Saxe-Coburg Wettin of Great were married in a religious ceremony on March 10th, 1863 in St. George's Chapel, Windsor Castle, England.  They had four sons and two daughters, named Albert Victor Christian, George V Windsor of Great, Victoria Alexandra Olga Mary, John Alexander, Louise Victoria Alexandra and Maud Charlotte Mary Victoria.
