Ashford Clayton 
Ashford was born on May 19th, 1825 in Perry County, Ohio. Ashford's father was William Clayton and his mother was Sarah Critton. His paternal grandparents were Thomas Jr Clayton and Mary Walker; his maternal grandparents were William Critton and Ann Haggerty. He had two brothers and two sisters, named Isaac, Jesse C., Margaret and Lettie Ann. He was the third oldest of the five children. He died at the age of 76 on April 4th, 1902 in Douglas County, Oregon.-
