Isabella was born about 1334 in Drayton Basset, Staffordshire, England. Isabella's father was Ralph Basset and her mother was Alice Audley. Her paternal grandparents were Ralph Basset and Joan de Grey of Wilton; her maternal grandparents were Nicholas de Audley and Joan Martin. She had a brother and a sister, named Ralph and Maud. She was the second oldest of the three children. She died in 1393 in Newark, Leicestershire, England. She was buried in Colmworth Church, Bedfordshire, England.-
