Jaime I the Conqueror of was born in Montpelier, Herault, France.  Jaime I the Conqueror of's father was Pedro II the Catholic of Aragon and his mother was Maria de Montpelier.  His paternal grandparents were Alfonso II the Chaste of Aragon and Sancha Alfonsez Infanta of Castile.  He was an only child.  He died on July 27th, 1276 in Monasterio Ciste, Valencia, Aragon, Spain.
