Melissa (Mealisa) was born on June 11th, 1858 in Cedar Valley, Wayne Co., Ohio. Melissa (Mealisa)'s father is Peterson Lowry and her mother is Mary Margaret Ward. Her paternal grandparents were James Lowry and Rachel Peterson. She had four brothers and four sisters, named John Winfield, Francis Marion, Jesse CarMills, Conrad Peterson Ellsworth, Nancy Jane, Mary Catherine, Elizabeth Ellen and Emline Viola. She was the fourth youngest of the nine children. She died at the age of 82 on November 19th, 1940 in Kenmore, Ohio. She was buried in Woodlawn Cemetery, Lodi, Ohio.-
