Francis Marion was born on October 25th, 1855 in Wayne Co., Ohio. Francis Marion's father is Peterson Lowry and his mother is Mary Margaret Ward. His paternal grandparents were James Lowry and Rachel Peterson. He had three brothers and five sisters, named John Winfield, Jesse CarMills, Conrad Peterson Ellsworth, Nancy Jane, Mary Catherine, Elizabeth Ellen, Melissa (Mealisa) and Emline Viola. He is the fifth oldest of the nine children.-
