Arseneth was born on March 20th, 1891 in Springdale, Washington Co., Utah. Arseneth's father was Freeborn Demille Gifford and her mother is Amelia Jane Hepworth. Her paternal grandfather was Samuel Kendall Gifford and her paternal grandmother is Lora Ann Demille. She had seven brothers and five sisters, named Samuel Kendall, Freeborn Barney, Frank Ephraim, Harry Squire, Anthony, Benjamin, Lawrence, Annice, Amelia, Penelpa, Anna and Eva. She was the fifth oldest of the thirteen children. She died at the age of 82 on February 11th, 1974 in Salt Lake City, Salt Lake Co., Utah.-
