Sarah was born on January 13th, 1809 in Ashe Co., NC. Sarah's father was William Edwards and her mother was Nancy Carter. Her paternal grandparents were David Edwards, Sr and Elizabeth Morris. She had five brothers and two sisters, named Thomas, Nathaniel, David E., Jonathan, Joshua Stoneman, Nancy and Jane. She was the fourth youngest of the eight children. She died at the age of 88 on April 6th, 1897 in Sparta, Alleghany Co., NC.-
