Andrew M. was born in 1852 in Ashe Co., NC. Andrew M.'s father was Solomon Osborn Edwards and his mother was Amazie Marion McMillan. His paternal grandparents were David Edwards and Jane Osborne; his maternal grandparents are James McMillan and Thrusa Gambill. He had three brothers and four sisters, named David Franklin, James Melvin, Solomon Osborn, Phoebe Jane, Elvira Jane, Mollie Evylin and Thursey. He was the third youngest of the eight children. He died at the age of 78 in 1930.-
