Effie L. was born on March 4th, 1875 in NC. Effie L.'s father is Commodore Hayes Collins and her mother was Matilda Andrews. Her paternal grandparents are Mahlon Collins and Effie Hays; her maternal grandfather was James Andrews and her maternal grandmother is Elizabeth Crouse. She had six brothers and two sisters, named Mitchell, Martin Kenny, Mahlon Leander, William Hayes, James D., John M., Sarah Louisa and Mary Ellen. She was the third youngest of the nine children. She died at the age of 6 on November 16th, 1881 in Alleghany Co., NC.-
