Jane Maria POLK 
Jane Maria was born on January 14th, 1798 in L Sugar Creek, Mecklenburg, North Carolina. Jane Maria's father was Samuel POLK and her mother was Jean Gracy KNOX. Her paternal grandparents were Ezekiel Franklin POLK and Mary Winslow WILSON; her maternal grandparents were James KNOX and Lydia GILLESPIE. She had nine brothers and three sisters, named James Knox, Marshall T, John, Franklin Ezekiel, Samuel W, Marshall Tate, John Lee, William Hawkins, Samuel, Lydia Eliza, Naomi and Ophelia Clarissa. She was the third oldest of the thirteen children. She died at the age of 78 on October 11th, 1876 in Columbia, Maury, Tennessee. She was buried in Greenwood Cem., Maury, Tennessee.General Notes
