George Washington Herring

George Washington was born in 1840 in , Washington, IL.  George Washington's father is Daniel Washington Herring and his mother was Helen Ellender Sevier.  His paternal grandparents are Peyton Herring and Mary 'Polly' Evans; his maternal grandparents were John Sevier and Anna Friend. He had five brothers and five sisters, named Jesse L, John Wesley, Alexander, William Jasper, Egell Elvin, Martha Ann, Frances Marion, Elisabeth Jane, Mary Etta and Amelia Nora.  He is the second oldest of the eleven children.
