Aveline was born about 1172 in Herford, England.  Aveline's father was Roger "The Good" De Clare and her mother was Maud de St. Hilary.  Her paternal grandparents were Richard fitz Gilbert de Clare and Adeliza de Meschines De Gernon; her maternal grandparents were James de St. Hilaire and Aveline. She had five brothers and two sisters, named Richard, James, Roger, John, Henry, Mabel and Elena.  She was the second youngest of the eight children. She had a half-brother and a half-sister, named William V and Alice.  She died on June 4th, 1225.

They had a son and three daughters, named Sir John, Hawise fitz, Cecily fitz and Isabella.


Aveline's second family with Sir William de Munchansey

‌Aveline and Sir William were married in a religious ceremony in Gooderstone, Norfolk, England.  They had a son named Warin.
