Sir John de Mandeville 
Sir John was born about 1215 in Shere, Surrey, England. Sir John's father was Geoffrey fitz Piers and his mother was Aveline de Clare. His paternal grandparents were Piers Lutegaresdale and Maud de Mandeville; his maternal grandparents were Roger "The Good" De Clare and Maud de St. Hilary. He had three sisters named Hawise fitz, Cecily fitz and Isabella. He was the youngest of the four children. He had three half-brothers and a half-sister, named William, Geoffrey, Warin and Maud FitzGeoffrey. He died on November 23rd, 1258.-
