Helen Valetta was born on January 29th, 1870 in of Corrigeen,Offerlane,Leix,Ireland. Helen Valetta's father was John Olphert Kemmis Captain and her mother was Mary Louisa Needham. Her paternal grandparents were George Kemmis Reverend and Caroline Olphert. She had three brothers and a sister, named George Richard, John William Henry, Charles Edward and Maude Mary.
