Charles Edward was born on January 19th, 1876 in of Corrigeen,Offerlane,Leix,Ireland. Charles Edward's father was John Olphert Kemmis Captain and his mother was Mary Louisa Needham. His paternal grandparents were George Kemmis Reverend and Caroline Olphert. He had two brothers and two sisters, named George Richard, John William Henry, Helen Valetta and Maude Mary.
