Silas was born on December 3rd, 1724 in Ridgefield,Fairfield,CT. Silas' father was *Joseph Keeler and his mother was *Elizabeth Whitney. His paternal grandparents were *Samuel Keeler and *Sarah St.John; his maternal grandparents were *John Whitney and *Elizabeth Smith. He had seven brothers and three sisters, named Joseph, Isaac, Martin, Lot, Paul, *John (Sr), Elijah, Rachel, Elizabeth and Sarah. He was the third youngest of the eleven children. He died at the age of 49 on May 2nd, 1774 in Ridgefield,CT (Ridgefield Cemetery).-
