Nicholas was born in of Muckross,Killarney,Kerry,Ireland. Nicholas' father was Edward Herbert and his mother was Frances Browne. His paternal grandparents were Edward Herbert and Agnes Crosbie. He had two brothers and six sisters, named Edward, Thomas, Arabella, Catherine, Frances, Thomasina, Agnes and Helena. He died in 1802.General Notes
