Rebecca Gaines 
Rebecca was born about 1808 in South Carolina. Rebecca's father was Stephen Gaines and her mother was Martha Patsy Waldrop. Her paternal grandparents were Richard Gaines and Elizabeth Flint; her maternal grandparents were Shadrack Waldrop and Martha Patsy Couch. She had six brothers and five sisters, named Nimrod, James A., Richard, Joseph, George, John Francis Pendleton, Elizabeth F., Everella, Mary Ellen, Nancy and Martha. She was the third oldest of the twelve children.-
