James Dewees 
James was born in 1778 in Kent County,Delaware. James' father was Joshua Dewees and his mother was Elizabeth New. His paternal grandparents were Samuel Dewees and Mary Coburn. He had two brothers and two sisters, named Jethro, Joshua, Elizabeth and Mary. He was the oldest of the five children. He had four half-brothers and a half-sister, named Thomas, Lewis, Samuel, William and Anna. He died at the age of 74 on March 6th, 1852 in Shelby County,Ohio.-
