Elizabeth Dewees 
Elizabeth was born in 1785 in Kent County,Delaware. Elizabeth's father was Joshua Dewees and her mother was Elizabeth New. Her paternal grandparents were Samuel Dewees and Mary Coburn. She had three brothers and a sister, named James, Jethro, Joshua and Mary. She was the second youngest of the five children. She had four half-brothers and a half-sister, named Thomas, Lewis, Samuel, William and Anna.-
