Jane was born on July 29th, 1799 in ,Woodford County,KY.1 Jane's father was John Young and her mother was Cynthia McCullough. Her paternal grandparents were Samuel Young and Jane Haynes. She had seven brothers and three sisters, named Archibald, Samuel, Lawson, John, William L., Thomas, Robert, Elizabeth, Lucinda and Nancy. She was the fifth youngest of the eleven children.
