John William was born on December 1st, 1833 in Shelby,IN. John William's father was Stephen Dominic Worland and his mother was Mary Ann Williamson. His paternal grandparents were Thomas Worland and Verlinda Hardy. He had seven brothers and four sisters, named Joseph Leo, Barnaby, George Tilson, Stephen Theodore, Thomas Walter, James Maurice, Stephen Maurice, Sarah Ann, Rachel Rebecca, Mary Eleanor and Julia Catherine. He was the oldest of the twelve children. He died at the age of 69 on November 26th, 1903 in Shelby,IN.-
