George Tilson was born on August 27th, 1843 in Shelby,IN. George Tilson's father was Stephen Dominic Worland and his mother was Mary Ann Williamson. His paternal grandparents were Thomas Worland and Verlinda Hardy. He had seven brothers and four sisters, named John William, Joseph Leo, Barnaby, Stephen Theodore, Thomas Walter, James Maurice, Stephen Maurice, Sarah Ann, Rachel Rebecca, Mary Eleanor and Julia Catherine. He was the sixth oldest of the twelve children. He died at the age of 35 on January 15th, 1879 in Shelby,IN.-
