Minnie L was born in October 1892 in ? Dent Co,Missouri. Minnie L's father was Joseph Anderson Shults and her mother was Mary Albertine Pewitt. Her paternal grandparents were Francis Marion Shults and Levina Wampler; her maternal grandparents were Malachi Pewitt and Jurettah Catherine Medlock. She had seven brothers and four sisters, named Francis M, David Columbus, Noah A, William H, Alvin Lee, Tilman Ruthvean, Hugh Elbert, Cora Ethel, Martha C A, Leura Dean and Ida Orlene.
