James Searls 
James was born on October 27th, 1809 in New York. James' father was Daniel Searls and his mother was Phebe Fisher. His paternal grandparents were John Searls and Hannah Ireland; his maternal grandparents were William Fisher and Charity Searls. He had seven brothers and three sisters, named William, Gilbert, Daniel Jr, Henry, Caleb, Isaiah, Solomon, Hannah M, Charity and Abigail. He was the second oldest of the eleven children. He had two half-brothers and three half-sisters, named John, Adam, Anna B, Hannah and Martha.-
