John W. Pherigo

John W. was born on January 17th, 1838.  John W.'s father was Jacob Pherigo and his mother was Martha Ann HANKINS.  His maternal grandparents were William HANKINS and Elizabeth McCARTY. He had two brothers and two sisters, named Allen, Joseph A., Sarah E. and Melissa.  He was the oldest of the five children.  He died at the age of 71 on February 16th, 1909 in Shelby,IN.

‌John W. and Esther were married in a religious ceremony on January 11th, 1863.
